Burger is one of the most popular snacks that many people cannot resist. It is often relished with french fries, coffee, or cold drink. Here's the recipe for a mouth-watering and a healthy burger to satisfy your taste buds.

Ingredients

  • 4 boiled potatoes (grated)

  • 2 small cups gram flour (besan)

  • ½ tablespoon turmeric powder (haldi)

  • Salt (to taste)

  • 2½ tablespoons ground coriander

  • Curry leaves (handful)

  • Ginger (grated, 1 tsp)

  • Refined oil (for frying)

  • ½ cup semolina (sooji)

  • 1 tablespoon gooseberry (amla) (grated/paste)

  • Tomato slices

  • Cucumber slices

  • Whole wheat buns (4, sliced)

  • Butter (for roasting buns)

  • Mayonnaise (optional)

  • Lettuce or cheese (optional toppings)

  • Tomato ketchup (for serving)

Patty Preparation

  1. Heat refined oil in a pan.

  2. Add ginger, curry leaves, coriander powder → sauté for 1 minute.

  3. Add turmeric powder + amla → mix well.

  4. Add grated potatoes → cook on low flame, stir continuously.

  5. Add salt → mix thoroughly.

  6. Remove from flame, let mixture cool.

  7. Shape into 8 patties.

Batter Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix:

    • Gram flour

    • Salt

    • Turmeric powder

    • Water → make a thick batter.

  2. Dip each potato patty in batter.

  3. Deep fry until golden brown.

Burger Assembly

  1. Slice whole wheat buns, apply butter, roast lightly on pan.

  2. Spread mayonnaise on bun base.

  3. Place tomato + cucumber slices.

  4. Add fried potato patty.

  5. Top with lettuce/cheese (optional).

  6. Cover with bun top.

  7. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
