4 boiled potatoes (grated)
2 small cups gram flour (besan)
½ tablespoon turmeric powder (haldi)
Salt (to taste)
2½ tablespoons ground coriander
Curry leaves (handful)
Ginger (grated, 1 tsp)
Refined oil (for frying)
½ cup semolina (sooji)
1 tablespoon gooseberry (amla) (grated/paste)
Tomato slices
Cucumber slices
Whole wheat buns (4, sliced)
Butter (for roasting buns)
Mayonnaise (optional)
Lettuce or cheese (optional toppings)
Tomato ketchup (for serving)
Heat refined oil in a pan.
Add ginger, curry leaves, coriander powder → sauté for 1 minute.
Add turmeric powder + amla → mix well.
Add grated potatoes → cook on low flame, stir continuously.
Add salt → mix thoroughly.
Remove from flame, let mixture cool.
Shape into 8 patties.
In a bowl, mix:
Gram flour
Salt
Turmeric powder
Water → make a thick batter.
Dip each potato patty in batter.
Deep fry until golden brown.
Slice whole wheat buns, apply butter, roast lightly on pan.
Spread mayonnaise on bun base.
Place tomato + cucumber slices.
Add fried potato patty.
Top with lettuce/cheese (optional).
Cover with bun top.
Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
