However, there is no scientific evidence that eating papaya at night is harmful or very good for people.
Experts do say that if eaten in small portion at night it may aid digestion but if eaten unripe papaya or in excess quantities, it can irritate the digestive tract. Some individuals might experience bloating or digestion issues if they eat at night.
Eating ripe papaya in moderation is a safe option (100-150 gram) even at night for healthy people. So if you don't have any digestive issues, latex allergies then eating papaya at night is not going to cause any problem.
But, if you have a sensitive digestive system or delicate stomach, you should try eating papaya earlier in the day to avoid the risk of gas or bloating.
Don't eat unripe or semi-ripe papaya (especially pregnant women or those having sensitivities). Ripe papaya is safe for such individuals.
