1. Juicing And Consuming Spinach Raw

The Ayurvedic health coach said spinach is a rich source of oxalates which bind with the calcium found in our body and creates an insoluble crystal that can lead to kidney stones. “I know a lot of patients ended up in the emergency room after going on a few days of spinach juice diet. Their body could not sustain it. In fact, nutritionists and experts have noticed that one glass of spinach juice has 8 to 10 times more oxalates than your body can possibly handle in a day,” emphasised Dimple Jangda.

2. Mixing Spinach With Yogurt, Dairy Products, & Fruits To Make A Smoothie:

Here also goes the similar protocol. Spinach has oxalates which bind with a calcium discovered in yogurt and dairy products that can cause kidney stones. “Also, spinach starts fermenting in the gut because it requires much longer time to get digested unlike fruits which can lead to bloating, burping, indigestion, IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) like symptoms and diarrhea,” revealed Dimple Jangda in a video shared on her Instagram account (@dimplejangdaofficial). Spinach can offer essential nutrients and vitamins and regular consumption can lead to healthy eating habits via this sustainable nutrition source.

3. Having Spinach In Raw Salads

If you look at the surface of spinach it has got a rough surface which is  perfect environment for pathogens, bacteria, tapeworm, and tapeworm eggs. And, it is notorious for bacterial like strongyloids,  giardia, and ascaris which start growing on the surface. Washing the spinach is not enough.

Best Way To Consume Spinach

According To Dimple Jangda, the most appropriate way to consume spinach or even kale is to blanch it in hot water till it turns dark green and shrinks into a small ball. And, then you can blend it really well. You can cook it with warm spices, add tomatoes, cinnamon, cardamom, cumin, fennel, and coriander. You can prepare a nice gravy out of it and add other vegetables to make a nice gravy to go with your main course.

Or you may even blanch it and then blend it really well to make a soup. You must cook it twice as that is the best way to consume spinach because unlike cows, sheep, and goats who have 40,000 jaw movements per day, we can not break down the complex plant fibres and the cell walls that are robust.
