At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, the smartphone brand has unveiled the much-anticipated Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra. These flagship-grade smartphones feature Leica-powered cameras, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, 50W wireless charging, and much more. While these phones are officially announced for global markets, the India launch is taking place this month. Let us check out the details of the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra.
It has been officially confirmed that the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra are launching in India on March 11, alongside some other products from the ecosystem. While the India prices of these phones will be revealed at the launch, here's the global launch price.
The Xiaomi 17 has been launched for EUR 999 (around Rs 1,07,101) for the 12GB + 256GB variant. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra with 16GB + 512GB storage comes for EUR 1,499 (approx. Rs 1,37,035).
While the Xiaomi 17 flaunts Black, Venture Green, Alpine Pink, and Ice Blue colours, the Ultra variant comes in Black, White, and Starlit Green colours.
The Xiaomi 17 features a 6.3-inch LTPO AMOLED display, while the Xiaomi 17 Ultra packs a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display. Both phones offer up to a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,500 nits peak brightness, Pro HDR, Wet Touch technology, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and more.
The Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (3nm) with Adreno GPU and Qualcomm AI engine. This is a flagship-grade chipset and is claimed to deliver 20 percent faster CPU performance and 35 percent improved power efficiency for multitasking and gaming.
In terms of optics, which is also one of the major highlights, the Xiaomi 17 sports a Leica-powered 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide sensor, and a 50MP telephoto camera. On the other hand, the Ultra variant offers a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 200MP periscope telephoto sensor.
It is worth noting that the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra are Leica-powered and offer premium tuning, but the Ultra is positioned as a "more camera than phone" flagship for serious photographers. Its 1-inch main sensor, LOFIC HDR, and larger tele sensor are said to deliver noticeably better results in challenging conditions.
Both smartphones pack a 50MP front sensor for selfies and video calls.
The battery capacity and charging speeds of these phones are different. The standard variant has a 6,330mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging, while the Ultra variant houses a 6,000mAh battery with 90W wired fast charging. However, what’s common between these phones is that they pack 50W wireless charging support.
Other notable features include the Xiaomi HyperOS 3 operating system, an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor, Hi-Res Audio & Wireless, Dolby Atmos, IP68 dust and water resistance, and more.
