Mixing Leftover Food With Freshly Cooked Foods: Dimple Jangda said, “When you reheat freshly cooked foods with leftover foods, you are increasing the formation of AGES.” AGES is basically Advanced Glycated End Products. AGES is found in leftover foods and their consumption can increases inflammation in the body.

Such food can also increase the risk of chronic diseases like diabetes, kidney health issues, liver health problems, blood pressure, arthritis, alzheimer’s, etc. Advanced Glycated End Products cause the protein and fat to bind with the sugar in your blood and it can lead to inflammation and other health issues, said, Jangda.

2. Fruits After Milk: Jangda emphasized on never giving your children fruits after a glass of milk or a glass of milk right after they have eaten fruits. “Fruits like grapes, melon, citric fruits like lemon, oranges, tangerines are rich in vitamin C.” It may start causing the casein in the animal-based protein like milk to coagulate, curdle, and ferment. That fermentation process can damage the gut lining, especially in young infants where their digestive system is still developing.

She revealed an incident also where a kid ate grapes right after consuming milk. She said, “I remember once my therapist had given an infant a couple of grapes to eat, and before we could reach the child, she had already eaten some. All night she cried because of the tummy aches and cramps because she was still feeding on her mother’s milk and that caused the fermentation process to happen between the grapes and milk.” Never give children fruit and milk at the same time.”

3. Honey With Ghee: She asked parents to “never give young infants honey and ghee mixed in equal proportion.” It blocks the strotas, the channels in the digestive system. Honey releases hydroxymethyl furfural (HMF) when it is heated, which is a carcinogenic compound. It is also neurotoxin and ghee has butyric acid. It is best consumed separately. You can mix ghee with other spices like turmeric, cinnamon to help release any kind of bloating issues for children.

By giving the right combination to your children, you are preventing gut health issues, bloating, indigestion, even skin diseases, and allergies that come from fruit and milk combination.
