In a bid to expand its presence in the ultra-large television segment, Samsung Electronics has unveiled a 130-inch Micro RGB TV at the Consumer Electronics Show 2026, claimed to be the world’s first of its kind. It is worth noting that Micro RGB is a display technology that uses individually controlled red, green and blue LEDs at the pixel level, instead of a traditional white backlight with colour filters.
As per the tech giant, the launch marks Samsung’s largest Micro RGB display to date and introduces a new design approach for its premium television lineup. Here’s what the company has revealed about the 130-inch Micro RGB smart TV.
The 130-inch display, which has the model number R95H, is designed to appear less like a conventional television, with the company stating that the intent is to create a window-like visual effect that blends into living spaces.
Notably, the smart TV uses the company’s latest Micro RGB processing technologies, including the Micro RGB AI Engine Pro, Micro RGB Color Booster Pro and Micro RGB HDR Pro, which rely on AI-based processing to adjust colour output and contrast across different brightness levels.
In terms of picture performance, the TV supports Micro RGB Precision Color 100 and is said to cover 100 percent of the BT.2020 colour gamut. It has also received colour accuracy certification from the Verband der Elektrotechnik (VDE).
The company also mentioned that it has included its proprietary Glare Free technology to reduce screen reflections under varied lighting conditions.
"Micro RGB represents the peak of our picture quality innovation, and the new 130-inch model takes that vision even further. We are reviving the spirit of our original design philosophy introduced more than a decade ago to deliver an unmistakably premium display, engineered with technology for a new generation," Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics, said in a statement.
For sports viewing, the TV offers an AI Soccer Mode Pro, which adjusts picture and sound output during football broadcasts based on on-screen activity. Meanwhile, the AI Sound Controller Pro allows users to adjust crowd noise, commentary and background audio while watching sports, TV shows or movies.
The newly announced Samsung 130-inch Micro RGB smart TV supports HDR10+ Advanced and Eclipsa Audio for enhanced picture and sound output. It also runs Samsung’s Vision AI Companion, enabling conversational search and access to AI-based features such as Live Translate, Generative Wallpaper, Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity.
