The OPPO A6s 5G is essentially a toned-down version of the OPPO A6 5G with a higher price. It offers similar core specs but brings downgrades like a weaker selfie camera and a smaller battery.
Following the announcement of the OPPO A6 5G in India in January, the company has launched the OPPO A6s 5G for Indian consumers. It is worth noting that the A6s 5G looks like a toned-down version of the A6 5G, but is a little ahead in terms of pricing, as it starts at Rs 18,999 for the base variant. Let us take a look at the price, features, and other key details of the OPPO A6s 5G.
In terms of availability, the OPPO A6s 5G is available in two colour options -- Aurora Gold and Plum Purple -- via the company's online channels, Flipkart, Amazon, and retail outlets.

Just like the OPPO A6 5G, the OPPO A6s 5G boasts a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD display with up to a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,125 nits peak brightness. Notably, the same display is also seen on the recently announced OPPO K14 5G, which is decent and not up to the mark as it lacks FHD+ resolution or an AMOLED display at this price point.
Even the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, which powers the OPPO A6 5G and OPPO K14 5G, is used on the OPPO A6s 5G. Notably, this is a chipset designed for affordable phones that can perform daily tasks like browsing, social media, and light gaming. It comes with a maximum 6GB RAM option, which is average, as you can easily find 8GB RAM phones at this price point.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the OPPO A6s 5G packs a dual rear camera setup, consisting of a 50MP main camera and a 2MP monochrome sensor, which we have also seen on the OPPO A6 5G and OPPO K14 5G.
However, while the OPPO A6 5G packs an 8MP selfie camera, the OPPO A6s 5G offers a downgraded 5MP selfie camera. Notably, a 5MP selfie camera on a phone that starts at Rs 18,999 feels underwhelming for the segment and may not deliver the expected selfie experience.
The OPPO A6s 5G packs a massive 6,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. But if you compare it to the OPPO A6 5G, it lags behind as the A6 5G offers a larger 7,000mAh battery. Meanwhile, the OPPO K14 5G, which is priced similarly and offers more RAM even on the base model, also packs the same 6,500mAh battery.
While the OPPO A6s 5G includes IP69, the A6 5G adds IP66 and IP68 as well. This means both phones offer strong protection against dust and water, but the OPPO A6 5G covers more scenarios with multiple ratings.
The OPPO A6s 5G is a decent smartphone, but is a little pricey compared to the recently announced OPPO A6 5G, with some downgraded features. Apart from the OPPO A6 5G, it directly competes with the iQOO Z11x, Moto G67 Power, and the OPPO K13 5G.
Price, Key Specs at a Glance
The iQOO Z11x is a recently launched smartphone priced at Rs 18,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant and offers a 6.76-inch LCD display, the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset, a dual 50MP Sony IMX852 main + 2MP depth sensor camera setup, a 32MP selfie sensor, and IP68 and IP69 ratings.
Meanwhile, the Moto G67 Power price in India starts at Rs 16,999 for the 8GB + 128GB storage variant on Flipkart. The phone boasts a 6.7-inch LCD display, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, 50MP + 8MP rear cameras, along with a 32MP front camera. It houses a 7,000mAh battery with 30W charging.
On the other hand, the OPPO K13 5G costs Rs 18,398 for the 8GB + 128GB variant on Amazon. It packs a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, a 50MP + 2MP rear camera setup, a 16MP selfie sensor, and a 7,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging support.
If we look at the price and specs of these smartphones, the OPPO A6s 5G is not really worth buying in this segment. While the OPPO A6s 5G feels like a toned-down version of the A6 5G with a higher price, its competitors offer better performance, bigger batteries, or more well-rounded specs at similar or lower prices.
