If you love creating short video content or reels, you might like the new feature by Google. The tech giant has introduced a new Photo to video feature that allows users to turn images into videos through text prompts. Google notes that users will now have more creative control with this feature in Google Photos.
The company stated that these new text prompts for video generation are available only to users who are 18 years of age or above.
Google mentioned that text prompts allow users to type a description of the movement, style, or effect they want to add, bringing photos to life as short videos.
Meanwhile, users who are unsure where to begin can choose from Google’s prompt suggestions for quick inspiration. Additionally, Google mentioned that prompts can also be edited and refined to fine-tune the final video result and make the experience better.
However, the tech giant said that this feature is still experimental, and therefore, generated videos may not provide the desired result at times. In order to get better results, users need to upload well-lit, focused, and front-facing images and then generate the video again.
Here’s how you can turn photos into dynamic short videos:
Open the Google Photos app
Tap Create > Photo to video
Select a photo
Choose an effect or enter a text prompt
Wait for the video to generate
Save or share the video
