1. Golden Bedtime Drink: Dimple Jangda said, “Number one is a strange but a very interesting combination. It is a pinch of turmeric, pinch of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of coconut oil, and some milk.” Jangda said, pepper and coconut oil are non-negotiable in this remedy. You can take one fifth or a quarter teaspoon of turmeric.
Turmeric is anti-inflammatory antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal. It reduces inflammation in your body and allows your gut to relax at night. Now, coconut oil and black pepper improve the absorption of curcumin from turmeric by almost 2,000%.
And, coconut oil also has a medium chain triglyceride, which is an immediate fuel for your cellular structure. She suggested to “Have this with milk which can be either cruelty free cow milk, coconut milk, or almond milk. It should not be oat milk and soya milk. Milk is a base for this drink. Have this drink at bedtime. You can also put a pinch of nutmeg in it to improve the quality of your sleep. This will help you sleep like a baby.
2. Power Breakfast: The Ayurveda expert advised to “never skip breakfast. Never start your day with caffeine as it only dehydrates your colon and the intestines and can make you have a fake rush of energy. And, when that energy crash happens, you start feeling more tired than you did before you had the coffee. Instead, make sure to incorporate it in your diet in the morning. Five almonds presoaked overnight, peeled, along with two dates (a great source of iron, hemoglobin) and some saffron threads.
Dimple Jangda called these ingredients “great for stimulating your Agni, your digestive fire. When your Agni becomes weak at a cellular level, it causes a lot of exhaustion and stress. And, also when your Ojas, which is the essence of life gets depleted, it also causes issues. The Ayurveda expert called these ingredients “Ancient Ayurvedic fuel that ignites your Agni (digestive fire) and rebuilds Ojas — your body’s life essence.”
3. Ashwagandha With Milk: Dimple Jangda said, “Most fatigue isn’t a sleep problem. It’s a stress problem. Ashwagandha taken with milk at bedtime may help — but only after consulting an Ayurvedic doctor. This is powerful medicine, not a trend.” Jangda suggested to “have one teaspoon of Ashwandha with one glass of milk at bedtime after consulting an Ayurvedic doctor. This is a herb which is adaptogenic in nature, it also reduces inflammation but it is something that you should not buy across the counter.
