Smartphone brand Tecno recently announced the Spark 50 in India, and now it is planning to unveil the Pro variant, the Tecno Spark 50 Pro, in India and globally. While the company is yet to reveal the details officially, a new report has surfaced online, suggesting its launch timeline, availability, and key features. Here's everything we know so far regarding the upcoming smartphone, which will come as the successor to the Spark 40 Pro.

Tecno Spark 50 Pro India Launch Details

According to tipster Paras Guglani, the Tecno Spark 50 Pro will be launched initially in select markets in May, and later it will come to India. However, the tipster didn't reveal the launch date.

He adds that the Tecno Spark 50 Pro is likely to come with competitive pricing in the budget segment.

To recall, the Spark 40 Pro was launched in Uganda for UGX 679,000, around Rs 17,274. However, the Spark 40 Pro never came to India, but the company recently launched the Spark 50 Pro at a starting price of Rs 18,499 for the 4GB + 128GB storage configuration.

The tipster notes that the upcoming Tecno Spark 50 Pro will offer a 6.78-inch display, similar to the Spark 40 Pro. However, the predecessor opted for an AMOLED display with up to a 144Hz refresh rate, but the Spark 50 Pro is tipped to offer an HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Like the predecessor, the Spark 50 Pro is said to offer the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate chipset, which is touted as a decent, affordable 4G chipset suitable for budget smartphones priced between Rs 12,000 and Rs 20,000.

This chipset delivers decent performance for daily tasks, social media, and light gaming. However, it is not meant for heavy gaming or demanding tasks, as it tends to heat up and throttle under load.

The smartphone is said to come in multiple storage configurations, including a model with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

While the Spark 40 Pro was announced with Android 15, the Spark 50 Pro is expected to ship with Android 16-based HiOS 16, running the latest software with Tecno's tailored features and performance optimisations.

In terms of optics, the Spark 50 Pro is expected to boast a 50MP main camera on the rear with autofocus and flash. Meanwhile, there will be an 8MP selfie camera with a front flash, which looks like a downgrade from the predecessor that features a 13MP selfie sensor.

The Spark 50 Pro will house a bigger 6,000mAh battery with 60W fast charging support, compared to the 5,200mAh battery and 45W charging on the predecessor, and this seems like a major highlight of the smartphone.

Other features of the upcoming Spark 50 Pro will include a fingerprint sensor, NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, a Type-C port, and more.

Tecno Spark 50 Pro Alternatives (expected)

The Tecno Spark 50 Pro is an upcoming 4G smartphone, but if it launches under Rs 20,000 in India, it might compete with phones like the Realme P4 Lite 5G, iQOO Z11x 5G, and OPPO K14x 5G.

The Realme P4 Lite 5G launch date in India is set to March 19, 2026.

The Realme P4 Lite 5G is priced at Rs 14,499 for the 4GB + 128GB model and comes with a 5G chipset, the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, an enhanced 6.8-inch 144Hz HD+ LCD display, and a bigger 7,000mAh battery. However, it has a 13MP main camera and 15W fast charging support.

The iQOO Z11x has been launched as an affordable smartphone priced under Rs 19,000.

Meanwhile, the iQOO Z11x 5G offers a 6.76-inch FHD+ display, a much stronger Dimensity 7400 Turbo 5G chipset, a massive 7,200mAh battery, and a superior 32MP selfie camera, along with a 50MP Sony main camera and a 2MP secondary sensor.

The OPPO K14x 5G price in India starts under Rs 15,000.

On the other hand, the OPPO K14x 5G offers a 6.75-inch display, the Dimensity 6300 chipset, a dual rear camera setup, and a balanced 6,500mAh battery, like the upcoming Tecno smartphone, along with 45W charging.

While the upcoming Spark 50 Pro is expected to feature fast 60W charging, its 4G-only chipset is a major limitation in 2026. Notably, the iQOO Z11x 5G emerges as the strongest alternative overall due to superior performance, a bigger battery, and 5G support, followed by the Realme P4 Lite 5G for better display and value.
