According to iFixit, the Galaxy S26 Ultra has several user-friendly design features, with the battery being one of the major highlights. The battery comes wrapped in a plastic adhesive jacket that can be peeled away easily by hand from all four sides. The company describes it as "what a consumable part should feel like to remove."
The USB Type-C port is modular and sits on a replaceable daughterboard, making it easy to swap out a high-wear component. Most of the rear cameras are also individually modular. Additionally, the rear glass can be removed relatively cleanly after applying heat, and Samsung has used standard Phillips screws throughout, which improves repairability overall.
However, the teardown also suggests that screen replacement is one of the most difficult jobs, as it requires significant heat and careful prying. This increases the risk of damaging the display, and iFixit says the panel could be "cooked" during the process.
The teardown video also notes that Samsung continues to use full-frame replacement assemblies, where the screen is bundled with other components. This increases repair costs and also leads to more electronic waste.
Furthermore, the selfie camera sits under the motherboard and is held in place with strong adhesive, making it harder to access and increasing the risk of damage.
iFixit notes that the Galaxy S26 Ultra has a repairability score of 5 out of 10. The score could go up to 6 out of 10 with better parts support and clearer repair manuals. However, Samsung still stops short of offering a fully repair-friendly design, even though it gets some basics right, like the battery and charging port.

This flagship smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which is said to deliver 19 percent faster performance for AI queries and on-device data processing. Notably, the chipset is paired with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB internal storage.
