The second-generation AirTag offers several interesting features such as a new speaker that delivers 50 percent louder sound, a longer Bluetooth range, end-to-end encrypted location data, and much more. The new Apple AirTag is priced at Rs 3,790 for a single unit. Meanwhile, the four-pack option can be purchased for Rs 12,900 in India.
The second-generation Apple AirTag is available for purchase through the company's official website and the Apple Store app. Meanwhile, it will soon be available at Apple Stores and Apple Authorised Resellers.
The newly announced Apple AirTag comes with a new speaker, which is comparatively 50 percent louder and makes it easier for users to identify alerts and locate items.
It is equipped with a second-generation Ultra Wideband (UWB) chip that allows for more accurate Precision Finding. Notably, this chip is also present in the Apple Watch Ultra 3, Apple Watch Series 11, iPhone 17 series, and iPhone Air.
Compared to the previous-generation AirTag, this AirTag offers an expanded Precision Finding range of up to 50 percent with the help of haptic, visual, and audio feedback. It also features a longer Bluetooth range, which improves detection efficiency.
The Apple AirTag includes end-to-end encrypted location data and protections against unwanted tracking. Additionally, it lets users share the location of a lost item with trusted third parties via Share Item Location.
The second-generation Apple AirTag works with the Find My network and is also compatible with existing AirTag accessories and key rings.
