8 Best Healing Oils, Benefits, & Ways To Use  

1. Black Seed Oil: Black seed oil, popularly known as kalonji, can offer numerous health benefits that may include improved immunity, decreased inflammation, and better gut health. The cardiologist with 40 years of experience recommended taking ½ tablespoon of black seed oil either with warm water or honey. He advised not to use the oil in excess and asked not to use it during pregnancy.

2. Flaxseed Oil: The oil is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acid that can support hormone balance and improve brain health, revealed Dr Chopra. One tablespoon of raw flaxseed oil should be taken and it should not be heated. One should avoid excess consumption and it should not be heated.

3. Castor Oil: The oil helps the body detox, enhance digestion, and supports liver health. The doctor recommended adding few drops of the oil to warm milk and it should be consumed occasionally. It is not ideal for daily use and should be avoided during pregnancy.

4. Sesame Oil: The oil strengthens bones, supports skin health and balances vata. The oil can be used for cooking, oil pulling, and massage. Excessive use of the oil should be avoided especially in hot body conditions, advised Dr Chopra.

5. MCT Oil: Also known as Medium-Chain Triglyceride, the oil has emerged as a source of quick energy, supports brain functioning, and improves metabolism. You can incorporate 1 tablespoon of the oil to either coffee or smoothie. You should always start slow as its initial use can cause gut discomfort, emphasized Dr Chopra.

6. Neem Oil: The powerful and popular oil can offer strong antibacterial properties. It supports skin and scalp health. It is ideal only for external use. One should always avoid internal use of neem oil, suggested the cardiologist.
