

Smartphone brand Xiaomi has announced that the Xiaomi 17 series is launching in India on February 28, which aligns with a recent leak. Notably, it is expected that the company will unveil the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra, which were already official in the Chinese market. Alongside the global launch in Barcelona, the Xiaomi 17 series will be unveiled for Indian consumers on February 28 at 6:30 PM (IST). While the company’s official India X page does not reveal the series name, the global page confirms it.
The company hasn't revealed any other details of the Xiaomi series so far. However, some recent leaks suggest the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra India and global prices.
As per a recent report, the Xiaomi 17 might be unveiled at a starting price of Rs 80,000, while the Ultra variant may launch at Rs 1,25,000 for the base storage model.
Meanwhile, the global price of the Xiaomi 17 is expected to be 999 euros and 1,099 euros for the 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB storage variants, respectively. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra might launch for 1,499 euros and 1,699 euros for the 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB models, respectively.
It is worth noting that the Chinese variant of the Xiaomi 17 was launched for CNY 4,499 for the 12GB + 256GB model, while the Xiaomi 17 Ultra starts at CNY 6,999 for the 12GB + 512GB variant.
As we know that the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra are already official in China, here are the specs based on that. However, it is not yet confirmed if those specs will be retained on the Indian or global variants.
Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra Specifications (expected)
The Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra are already launched in the Chinese market. Therefore, the Chinese variant of the Xiaomi 17 packs a 6.3-inch 120Hz 1.5K LTPO display with up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra offers a 6.9-inch 120Hz 2K OLED LTPO display with up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness.
In terms of chipset, the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC.
The Xiaomi 17 sports a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.31-inch Light Fusion 950 sensor, a 50MP Leica ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 50MP Leica telephoto camera.
In contrast, the Ultra variant has a 50MP Leica main camera with a 1-inch Light Fusion 1050L sensor, a 50MP Leica ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 200MP Leica super telephoto sensor with a 1/1.4-inch HPE image sensor.
Both smartphones pack a 50MP selfie camera on the front.
While the Xiaomi 17 houses a 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging support, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is equipped with a 6,800mAh battery, offering 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging support.
In terms of durability, the Xiaomi 17 offers an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, while the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is likely more durable with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings.
