OnePlus Nord 6 Launched in India: Price, Specs, Is it Worth Buying?

Following teasers, the OnePlus Nord 6 is finally official in India as the successor to the OnePlus Nord 5. It features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, a 50MP Sony sensor, a 9,000mAh battery, and much more. While the new model includes some upgrades, it also brings a few downgrades compared to the predecessor. Here's the price, specifications, and whether the device is worth buying.

OnePlus Nord 6 Price in India, Colours, Availability

The OnePlus Nord 6 has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 38,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant, while the 12GB + 256GB model is priced at Rs 41,999.

As part of introductory offers, the company is providing an instant discount of Rs 2,000 on full swipe transactions using Axis Bank credit cards. Users purchasing the device on EMI via Axis Bank or HDFC Bank credit cards can get a discount of Rs 3,000.

The OnePlus Nord 6 comes in Fresh Mint, Pitch Black, and Quick Silver colours, and will be available via the company’s website, Amazon, and select offline retail stores from April 9 at 12 pm (IST).

To compare, the OnePlus Nord 5 is available for Rs 33,999 and Rs 36,999 for the 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB models, respectively.

Therefore, compared to the OnePlus Nord 5, the OnePlus Nord 6 comes with a Rs 5,000 premium across both variants.

In terms of performance, the new Nord device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset with an Adreno 825 GPU, compared to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor on the Nord 5. Notably, the newer-generation chipset brings better overall performance, improved efficiency, and stronger gaming capabilities.

The OnePlus Nord 6 ships with Android 16-based OxygenOS 16, offering 4 major Android OS updates and 6 years of security patches.

In terms of optics, the OnePlus Nord 6 packs a 50MP Sony LYTIA-600 main sensor with dual-axis OIS and an 8MP ultrawide lens. Meanwhile, the front features a 32MP selfie camera.

Is the OnePlus Nord 6 Worth Buying?

The OnePlus Nord 6 offers several new upgrades such as better battery, smoother everyday performance, and much stronger durability with military-grade protection. The only area where it feels like a small step back is the selfie camera. If you are coming from the OnePlus Nord 5 and want longer screen time plus better build quality, the upgrade makes sense.

At this Rs 39,000–42,000 price range, the two phones that compete most directly with the Nord 6 are the iQOO 15R and the POCO X8 Pro Max. The iQOO 15R, which starts at Rs 44,999, is the closest rival, and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, offers a 7,600mAh battery with 100W fast charging, and a 6.59-inch 144Hz AMOLED display. It's built for heavy gaming and long usage, and many people prefer it purely for its battery size and charging speed.

However, the OnePlus Nord 6 feels more polished in day-to-day use, has cleaner software, and offers better overall durability.

On the other hand, the POCO X8 Pro Max that starts at Rs 42,999 boasts a same 9,000mAh battery, but with faster 100W charging, a 6.83-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, and the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset. It often gives the best raw battery life and performance per rupee, but you usually compromise a bit on camera consistency, long-term software updates, and that premium OnePlus feel.

If you want a balanced phone with clean software, reliable performance, and solid battery life, the OnePlus Nord 6 makes sense. But if you care more about raw performance or faster charging, the iQOO 15R or POCO X8 Pro Max are better picks.
