Apple introduced the iPhone 17 series in September 2025, and the company is now expected to bring a more affordable model, the iPhone 17e. While Apple has not shared any official information yet, a Weibo-based tipster claims that the iPhone 17e will enter production shortly after CES. The tipster has also suggested that the device could feature the Dynamic Island and may use a downgraded version of the A19 chipset.
Tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo posted that the upcoming iPhone 17e will be powered by a downgraded variant of the A19 chip. It is worth mentioning that the predecessor, the iPhone 16e, packs a custom A18 chip. Therefore, the information shared by the tipster might be true. However, this information should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Additionally, the tipster also mentioned that the iPhone 17e will flaunt a 6.1-inch display with a 60Hz refresh rate, like its predecessor, but will feature the Dynamic Island, which was missing on the iPhone 16e, as that iPhone has a notch at the top of the screen. Notably, the Dynamic Island would allow ongoing activities to be displayed at the top of the screen in an interactive format.
Another tipster, Digital Chat Station, has recently made similar claims about the iPhone 17e, suggesting support for the Dynamic Island and the A19 chip. Therefore, these claims are not entirely new. Also, if these claims are to be believed, the iPhone 17e might see some visible upgrades over the predecessor.
However, since Apple has not confirmed these details, the information should be treated as a leak for now. Stay tuned for more updates.
