The Apple iPhone 17e is now official in India, but it will be available for purchase starting March 11. The phone comes in upgraded 256GB and 512GB storage options, and features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, A19 chip, a 48MP single camera and more.
After weeks of speculation, tech giant Apple has unveiled the affordable iPhone 17e, which comes as a successor to the iPhone 16e. It features the A19 chip, MagSafe charging, more internal storage, an IP68 rating and much more. Let us check out the price, features, and other details of the newly announced iPhone 17e.
The iPhone 17e price starts at Rs 64,900 for the 256GB model, while the 512GB variant is priced at Rs 84,900.

The iPhone 17e comes with a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, offering up to 1,200 nits peak HDR brightness. It packs Ceramic Shield 2, which is claimed to offer 3x better scratch resistance compared to the previous generation.
While the rumours suggested it would include Dynamic Island, the iPhone 17e features the same notch design as its predecessor. However, it retains Face ID for secure biometric authentication and includes the Action button, allowing quick access to shortcuts such as the flashlight or launching the camera.
To power the iPhone 17e, Apple has incorporated the A19 chip, built on a 3nm process, compared to the A18 chip seen on the iPhone 16e.
The chipset features a 6-core CPU, and it is said to be up to two times faster than the iPhone 11, while the 4-core GPU is claimed to support hardware-accelerated ray tracing for enhanced gaming visuals.
Furthermore, the 16-core Neural Engine powers Apple Intelligence features more efficiently. It also includes the C1X modem, which is claimed to be up to 2x faster than the C1 modem and consumes less power.
While the battery capacity of the iPhone 17e remains unknown, it includes USB-C fast wired charging, which can charge up to 50 percent in around 30 minutes.
The phone also supports MagSafe and Qi2 for fast wireless charging up to 15W, compared to 7.5W Qi wireless charging available on the iPhone 16e.
The iPhone 17e sports a single 48MP Fusion camera, which is said to offer "optical-quality 2x Telephoto". Users can also shoot at 24MP by default for balanced file sizes.
Additionally, the company claims that the Portrait mode has been updated with an improved image pipeline that is said to enhance depth mapping and background blur while keeping the subject in focus.
In terms of software, the iPhone 17e runs iOS 26, which is said to offer enhanced Apple Intelligence capabilities. It also comes with the new Liquid Glass design, which is said to make apps and system experiences more expressive. Features include Call Screening, Live Translation in Messages, FaceTime, Phone, Hold Assist, and more.
Meanwhile, satellite and safety tools on the iPhone 17e include Emergency SOS, Roadside Assistance, Messages via satellite, Crash Detection, and more.
