With an aim to enhance user experience by using its AI assistant on televisions, Google has announced some new Gemini-powered features for Google TV at CES 2026. It is worth mentioning that the new update will let users search for information, control TV settings using voice commands, and access Google Photos directly on their TV.

As per the tech giant, the features will first be available on select TCL devices and later on more Google TV-powered devices, including smart TVs and projectors. Let us take a look at the newly announced Gemini-powered features for Google TV.

Gemini AI features arrive on Google TV

According to the tech giant, with the help of Gemini, search results will now include images, videos, and contextual information such as real-time sports updates. For detailed topics, the tech giant is introducing a new feature called “Deep Dives” that provides narrated and interactive overviews designed for viewing on a TV screen.

As part of the new features, users will be able to search their photo library for specific people or moments. The update will also allow users to apply artistic styles to images with the help of Photos Remix. Along with that, a tool will let users play cinematic slideshows of their images.

Through Nano Banana and Veo support, the tech giant’s AI tools for creating realistic images and cinematic videos, users will also be able to reimagine personal photos or create original media directly on their TV.

The company’s blog post also mentioned that through natural language voice commands, users will be able to optimise picture and sound settings directly, such as adjusting brightness or improving dialogue clarity.
