The Apple iPhone Fold is a rumoured device that is expected to launch this year as the company’s first foldable iPhone. While the company hasn’t revealed anything about it, a number of leaks and speculations suggest some key details regarding the expected iPhone Fold.
Tech giant Apple is likely planning to announce its first fold phone, the iPhone Fold, later this year. While this foldable device is still rumoured, it is said to offer a different form factor compared to other foldable devices available in the market. Additionally, it is rumoured to feature the biggest battery the tech giant has ever incorporated in an iPhone. Let us check out the expected details of the yet-to-be-announced iPhone Fold.
Citing a leak from Weibo, a report by GSMArena suggests that the iPhone Fold is expected to feature a 5,500mAh battery.
Meanwhile, a recent leak suggested that the iPhone Fold might offer somewhere between a 5,400mAh and 5,800mAh battery.
However, if the latest info turns out to be true, this iPhone would not just be Apple's biggest iPhone battery yet; it would also be nearly 10 percent larger than the eSIM-only iPhone 17 Pro Max.
It's not confirmed, but the iPhone Fold might boast a 7.8-inch inner display and a 5.5-inch outer display.
In terms of cameras, the expected iPhone Fold might come with a dual rear camera setup, consisting of two 48MP cameras.
On the front, this foldable iPhone might feature two 18MP front cameras.
The iPhone Fold might be powered by the A20 Pro chipset, paired with up to 12GB of RAM.
Another tipster on Weibo hints at the design of the iPhone Fold. The tipster mentioned that the power button (integrating Touch ID) and the camera button are on the right side. However, the volume keys are placed on the top right, instead of the left edge.
The tipster notes that this placement is done because the motherboard is placed on the right side, and the company did not want to run cables across the screen to make buttons on the left side. As a result, the left side is clean and has no physical buttons, with almost all the space dedicated to the screen structure and battery.
As per the tipster, the front panel features a single round hole design for the camera, while the rear panel has a dual camera setup, microphone and a flash arranged horizontally.
It is worth noting that we are months away from its launch, and the company hasn't commented on any of these details, as they are based on rumours, leaks, and speculation. Therefore, they should be taken with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned for more updates.
